Executive Summary

Entering the Instructional Design and Technology program at the university of Tampa I wasn't exactly sure what path I wanted to pursue. Before starting the IDT program I was a preschool teacher. Learning how to take care of young children while implementing curriculum and making sure each student was successful in their development cognitively as well as behaviorally was difficult but also exciting. Each day presented a new task so I always had to be ready to make quick changes or adjustments in order to make sure my students were learning. With my background in education I was intrigued by the IDT program and what it had to offer within education.

While being involved in the IDT program I have also been coaching women's soccer at the university Tampa. One of my roles as the assistant coach is overseeing academics. During my time in the IDT program I have tried to implement different instructional pieces to help my student athletes excel not just on the field but in the classroom as well. While taking Introduction to Instructional Design I was able to test my instruction design capabilities to develop an organizational plan for student athletes. That organizational piece I created is something that I myself require my soccer players to use. It's an extra tool for them to use to make sure they are organized and up to date with different tasks or assignments. This is instructional material that continuously adapts and changes with revised modifications after each attempt. While taking Systematic Instructional Design I developed an instructional module using Storyline from Articulate 360 software to help student athletes understand the importance of proper use of social media. Social media is an important policy mandated not just through the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) but also within the university as well as among specific sports programs. With the use of technology and social media today student athletes have to be smart about what they share. This module is an educational piece to provide student athletes with the rules and policies as well with examples of improper use of social media and unfortunate outcomes.

My portfolio includes information about myself, who I am and where I am from. There's also information regarding my past working experience as well as my current which all ties into my future path as an instruction designer. There are projects I've developed during my time in the IDT program. Most of my projects were involved with group work which taught me how to mange my time as well as my fellow partners. As well as learning how to manage projects by delegating tasks and assignments.

My strengths as an instructional designer are the following:

                      Effective leadership and communication

                      Time management and organizational skills

                      Project management

                      Quick and effective problem solver

Developing instructional material using Articulate 360, more specifically Storyline.
